BIMstream scanned, mapped, flew, and modeled three vent buildings for SGH and Massport in support of exterior facade renovations. We used a Leica RTC360 to capture high-definition colorized scans of the exterior. We also delivered high-resolution videography via VR headsets on site with the SGH project team.
SGH needed to visualize the inside of each vent building, so we employed both drone and 360° imagery. For the drone, we designed and 3D printed a protective cage that allowed us to gain access to the tight quarters of the vent building interiors. We also used a 3D camera, which we lowered into the vent buildings from a cherry picker. We delivered the drone videography and 3D imagery via an online service called Kuula for assessment back in SGH’s office.
We used our Leica RTC360 to scan the exterior of the vent buildings in support of the architect’s exterior renovation efforts.
