Arlington Street Church

BIMstream scanned, mapped, flew, and modeled the historic Arlington Street Church for Bruner Cott and SGH in support of exterior facade renovations. We used a Leica RTC360 to capture high-definition colorized scans of the exterior and interior of the steeple. We also delivered high-resolution videography via VR headsets on site with the Bruner Cott and SGH project teams. This workflow was effective as it allowed the architects and engineers to direct exactly what areas of the facade and steeple they wanted to see.

We modeled the Church in LOD450 detail. The architects wanted each stone to be a separate and identifiable Family for scheduling. The ability for the project team to export out schedules based on stone condition was critical.

We were able to use our aerial capture in the heart of Boston’s Back Bay to create an operated reality mesh, which was leveraged for condition assessment. We also processed elevational orthomosaic images and included them in the documentation set.
